Heartburn anyone?

Hi again. I'm two weeks out. I woke up this morning with heartburn. I'm only on a full liquid diet and haven't tried anything new in the last few days. I had my two week check up today which went great and I explained the heartburn to my surgeon. He said it's not uncommon to have things like heartburn, upset stomach, nausea, etc. up to 8 weeks post-op because the stomach is new and even the old stomach is still producing acids too. He said he would give me something but also said that on occasion all those symtoms could easily mask something else and he would hate to do that. He got me there. I was just curious if anyone has had this on the May Board. It's not too terrible, just annoying! ana

Yep. I'm on Asiphex (sp??) and have to cru**** to take it. It's horrible, but the meds help. I had it before hand, too, heartburn and reflux, so I was left on my meds for a while. They haven't mentioned me coming off of it any time soon, so I imagine it'll be at least a couple more weeks, or so. I had surgery May 2, but see my doctor again next week. Hoping I can get off some of these meds!! Bloodpressure and such meds. Feel like a druggy. Anyway, I'm there with ya!! It's worse when I lay down. UGH! Can't believe I get heartburn and reflux from water, milk, V8 and cottage cheese.
