Okay people I just found out this morning during preop testing that I will have an NG tube. Uhhhhhhm isn't that painful? I just don't know about something going down my nose...how will i breathe. I remember having a patient once that had an NG tube and it seemed like it caused him pain. What was your experience like?I'm kinda worried about this. Then on top of that i had a breathing treatment this morning.....uhhhm why I don't know, the albuterol gave me a headache and made me feel weird.....kinda spacey. Again why i had the breathing treatment today only the lord knows. I kept asking the nurse are you sure you're supposed to do this today. I mean the respriratory therapist hooked me up to the wall turned it on and everything. I kept thinking LORD well at least theres a crash cart if they kill me, because God in heaven knows I dont think I'm supposed to have this today. T-48Hours ~Morgan

Hi Morgan I had an NG tube. It pumps the fluid out of your new pouch to allow it to heal better. I found it a bit uncomfortable but not horrible. I could feel it in my throat occassionally and it was a little sore. It didn't interfere with my breathing at all, except that my CPAP mask didn't make a snug fit around my nose, so they just gave me nasal oxygen and that worked great. Fortunately, the tube came out after 2 days. Try not to sweat it.

Same here, I had mine in for 3 days. No problem breathing or anything. Worst part about it is the removal, but dont sweat that only takes a second. See you on the loosing side.
