Question about tummy pain

I had lap rny on 5/12 and basically have done very very well. The last couple of days however, I have this sort of shooting pain from my left side over to close to my belly button. It happens when I sit down mostly. I can handle the pain, but want to make sure it's nothing to be concerned about. I have a follow up appt. with my surgeon tomorrow, but wondered if anyone else has had any pain like this? Thanks!

Wanga I had mine on 5/11, and I have not had any kind of pain like that. I wonder if it is gas type...I know the first few days after surgery I sure had a lot of gas pain...good to hear that you are seeing your surgeon tomorrow. Let us know what he says Patti

I had my surgery May 9th and the pain on my left side is from the balloon from the G-tube. Do you have the G-tube in? My surgeon makes us keep it in for 5 weeks. Anyway, the pain was from the balloon being to big. When I went for my one week checkup, the nurse took some fluid out to make the balloon smaller and I'm more comfortable now. Perhaps that's your problem. And gas too. Not trying to be grose but I've never had so much gas rumbling around in and coming out in my life! Dawn

Wanda~ I had lap RNY on 051005, I have also been having this pain around my belly button. Mine started around 052205. I talked to the nurse @ my surgeon's office today & she said that it is from the scope being inserted through the belly button and the gas that they used. I was afraid that I was tearing something and she assured me that it is nearly impossible to tear anything. She said not to worry, it is muscle related. Hope that helps! Rebecca
