New to Board - Surgery scheduled May 24th!

Hello All! I'm new to this message board and SO happy to have found it! My name is Lisa and I'm having surgery this coming Tuesday (24th) at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital here in North Carolina. I'm SO nervous yet SO excited. I was trying to get together my list of items to take to the hospital, I'd love to hear from others of maybe some good items to take along. And I believe in the power of prayer...I ask that you please keep me in yours as I will you all. Thanks Lisa

Welcome Lisa, I go in on Friday and my Dr. suggests Lotion, Lip Balm due to the O2, Brush, toiletries and non-skid house shoes. I hope this helps! My prayers are with you! Meg

Hi Lisa, I am 12 days post op and wanted to let you know the items I used in the hopsital....lip balm is good, tooth brush (but my hospital provided me a fresh one each day), a personal fan is good because they may not have one for you to use. I needed one because I felt a little warm at times. And other than that the hospital provided mose items...maybe your own pillow might make you feel more comfortable... My prayers will be with you on the 24th. Patti

I agree with these responses. I felt that brushing my teeth several times a day made me feel better - fresher, cleaner. When you can't drink anything but a bit of water, or even when you start the protien shakes, Brushing my teeth just made me feel better. Good Luck Lisa!

So glad you found us Mayers - I will be having surgery the 26th - so I would not be any help to you; however, I promised on your support page to pray for you and I have been and will continue to do so. At one time I lived in NC - I love that state from the beautiful mountains to the gorgeous shores of the Atlantic. Now I just live across the field from a bean field in Iowa. I must say is a wonderful place to be because it is where God wants us now.
