Finally-lost a pound

Here I am, nine days post-op, feeling pretty good, and **finally** have lost one pound off of my pre-op weight!!! I had lost 30 pounds before surgery, only to come home with 18 pounds of surgery IV fluid weight in me. Today was the first day I weigh less than before surgery. For some reason, my body has just held on to all of tha****er, even though I am following the rules. I hope this doesn't foreshadow a long, slow, process for me. I am not a lightweight, so I've got a long way to go. I am just focusing on healing, and knowing I'm am on the right side of the recovery. Debra M.

Geez, I must have gotten lucky. I gained a couple of pounds the first day in the hospital from IVs but lost it the next. I peed ALOT! I couldn't believe how much I was peeing because I forgot about the IV and just knew I wasn't getting much via ice chips...
