Hi Melissa, I had surgery at Barix of Ohio monday and I was very pleased with the whole process. Right now I am going though a gassy phase and it is something else. Can you pass me the GAS-X puleeeez Good Luck!!! Deri

Hey surgery twin!!! I will be having my surgery in the same day in Baltimore, MD at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Congratulations.

Hi Melissa and welcome! I had open RNY on 5/3/05 and felt pretty good a few days out. I didn't take any pain meds after the 2nd day of surgery. If you're having lap, though be prepared for GGGAAASSSS!!! Get some gas-x and be prepared. Until it all starts ... ummm.... leaving your body it will be painful. (I had my gall bladder removed laproscopically years ago and everyone who's had the lap bypass says the same.) Good luck to you! Michelle
