Wow I woke up with some energy today!!!!
It is totally amazing to me how the body heals!!! I have taken my recovery at a moderate pace vs some others on the board. I was able to arrange care for my daughter for the majority of the time up until 5/18 which really took a load off. Luckily we have a lot of other kids in the neighborhood she can play with, I feel guilty I have not been able to swing her in the backyard. I am not loading the dishwasher yet. I have slept in my bed for the last 3 nights. I am basically off the pain meds, none yesterday just Alive. I have been out on the back poarch this morning reading and sipping hot tea, lovely!!! That is a wonderful luxury I will rarely get once I go back to work. I was able to give my daughter a shower last night, probably a few more days until I attempt a bath. It is still hard not picking her up in situations but I am so petrified of a hernia I am trying my best. Although one thing I have really enjoyed is when she crawls up in the borrowed recliner to snuggle with me, she is very gentle and sweet and says "no elbows" because she has the boniest little elbows! I can not believe she will be 4 year old in 6 days!!! She is a joy and a large part of the reason I made the decision to have surgery.
Did I mention that as of 5/17 I have lost 16lbs!!!! Wow, what a difference 8 days make!!! I can tell I have lost some more and am trying to be good and wait until Monday to get on the scale. I plan on scrapbooking some today, I am really excited I will be able to get some scrapbooking done while I am out. That and some matinees with my hubby with no babysitter fees while daughter is at school. I am so glad that I am on the easier side of recovery now!!!
Heidi,
I want to go to the movies so bad too, but I am so afraid of the popcorn. I love the buttered popcorn. So I am staying away for awhile. trying to do everything by the book. As of today, my two week mark I have lost 21 lbs. I am very happy about that and I know what you mean about being home. I am sitting here with the cool breeze and all windows open in the house and reading my latest Danielle Steele book. Peaceful to say the least. Congrats to all of the may post ops. Sounds like everyone is doing well.

YEAH Heidi!
So glad your doing so good. Better to see your spirits up! Slow and steady is best, you definately don't want a hernia! Congrats on your road to being A BIG OLD LOOSER!!! I can't wait to get that "L" tatooed on my forehead!
Thanks for all your kind words!!! I have to tell you guys I was finally able to bend over pretty easily yesterday and what do you think happend, I overdid it and was hurting by 5:00, pain pill at 7:00. Today I am moving slower and taking it easier!!! I will tell you though, I rode along to gymnastics with my daughter and hubby and we went to IHOP like we always do. I had a garden omelet and it was out of this world!!!! So you know there are goods and bads everyday!!!! Just got to keep on keepin!!!!
