Hi! I just the May Board! Yippee!

Hi! I just found the May board. Been here for months, never knew they had this. Duh!! Just wanted to say hi, my date is May 24, less then a week. I am nervous as all, but more because my kids are. They seem to be planning my funeral, they wont listen to any good things. They are driving me They are 10, 12, 13, and 17. Two of them have been crying for two days. Anyone else getting close and nervous?? Take care, Marlene

Dear Marlene, Good luck with your surgery. Mine is scheduled for one week later-May 31st. I am very nervous and have been eating and eating and eating!!! and not sleeping. I have begun to pack my suitcase...VERY large panties, chapstick, nightgowns,robe, slippers, deodorant, etc. I'm NOT looking forward to the night before. I understand what happens after the Fleet is VERY gaseous, smelly and irritating. Yuck!! Tell your kids that you're doing it mainly for them so they'll have their mom around for a long long time. My daughters are 39 and 40 and are thrilled for me. Nervous too, but they both put on a happy face. Now that I've rambled on................Good luck again and think good thoughts. I will. Betsy

Marlene congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I had mine last Thursday, the 12th. It's great to be on the losing side. I have a 7 year old daughter, but she didn't really understand the surgery, so I haven't dealt with the very concerned children. I will be keeping you and all of your children in my prayers. Oh I understand about family. Iwas not allowed to go to the hospital on Monday without having a new will, living will and all the promises that I could make that everything was going to be ok. Remember why you are doing this. The kids are going to be so happy once you are healthy again, just wait
