Hello! I also had WLS on 5-04-05. I eat scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, refried beans with cheese, yougurt, tuna with mayo, sugar free pudding, mashed potatoes. I have tried pretzels, and they made me have some sharp rib pains. The doctor said I may not have been ready for it. What sort of stuff are you eating?? Talk to you later! Stacy 346/323/?

I just advanced from clear liquids to full liquids and BOY am I glad! I was so sick of chicken broth and Jello! Last night I had some pudding (FF/SF), this morning some grits for breakfast (if you don't like grits, think Cream of Rice), and homemade cream of asparagus soup (strained) for lunch. I'm in heaven!

I was 5/10. I am eating 1/2 scrambled eggs with a little cheese on it; 2 tbsps yogurt; 1 tbsp cottage cheese; 1 tbsp sf pudding; 1/2 slice of deli ham; 1/4 slice turkey bacon. Getting all of my fluids in too! Would love to try some tuna but don't know what to put it in to keep it moist (hate mayo). Also would love some ground beef (like taco meat) but don't know how to make it at home.

Hi Abby, I just read your post, and have a suggestion for taco meat. First of all you'll need ground meat, a good spatula, a collander, a large bowl and taco seasoning. I would suggest the taco bell taco seasoning that you buy in the seasoning aisle as it tastes the best. On low medium heat cook your taco meat (watch it carefully so it doesn't burn). As it cooks use your spatula and chop the meat with as it cooks. If you're watching it really well it wont take long to brown. Keep chopping it (using the end of the the spatula at a 90 degree angle****il you remove it from the heat. Once you remove it turn on the ho****er from your faucet as hot as you can get it, and then pour the browned meat into the collander. Next, let the ho****er run over the meat to remove any excess grease, do this for about a minute or so. (you basically want to rinse the meat with the water). Now take that ground meat and place it in a bowl you can use a regular one depending on how much you cooked, and chop the meat again with the spatually all the while making sure to keep the 90 degree angle. You will notice the meat now looks like medium to small sized crumbs. take the meat return it to your clean skillet add the taco seasoning and water and return to the heat for about2-5 minutes on medium heat. It should look and tatste just like the taco meat you get at any restaurant. Hope this helps everyone loves this recipe. Morgan

I had RNY on 5/3, and am still on full liquids until my surgeon appointment on Friday. Words cannot express how desperate I am for the next stage! Technically it's the puree stage, but my surgeon also lists soft-cooked fish... and I have plenty of recipes for things like steamed fish and braised tofu. It's amazing how much you miss the simple act of chewing! (not to mention the whole flavor thing - I've found some protein drinks that I like, but I loathe cottage cheese and am sick of SF pudding and cream soup)

P., speaking of soft cooked fish- Last night I grilled some marinated salmon. Talk about soft and juicy-OH MY GOODNESS!! I was only able to eat a teeny bit, but my family wants me to do all our fish this way from now on. You can find the recipe for "Maple Glazed Salmon with Pineapple Salsa" on the foodtv.com site. Just do a search using the recipe title and you'll get it. I wasn't able to eat much of the salsa cause my doc says no uncooked fruits or veggies right now, but I picked out the bits of canned pineapple and ate it with the fish. Too good! I'm at the eat anything stage, and trying everything, but have dumped on coffee (boohoo!) and lite coolwhip (one little dollop on my sugarfree pudding sent me scurrying to the bathroom within 30 minutes). The pouch says I'm moving too fast, so I'll listen to her and slow down with new foods. Keeping pouchie happy is very important! Becky Jean 263/239/140
