I'm 5 days pre-op!

It is now real. I've had different doctors suggest WLS to me for about 7 years. I was always against it. In January, my mind changed, because arthritis has made it difficult to walk without pain. It is so scary. I had an easy time of it with insurance approval and everything else. I've spent my time researching everything. Wish me luck...

Lori we will both do great on Monday. I am 18 and with all the odds against me and all the negativity about my age and surgery I am going to use that as a dreiving force to prove others wrong. I will pray for both of us. Good Luck. ~Amanda

Amanda, Thanks for replying. Wow, 18! This takes a tremendous amount of commitment to be successful. The only way to prove the naysayers wrong is to be successful! So do it girl! Please let me know how you are doing! Lori

Hi Lori! I am 5 days pre-op. Mine is May 23rd. I thought the entire process from when I decided to go ahead with WLS went really fast. I am going to Methodist Hospital. I will say this liquid diet 10 days before is enough to make you go crazy. My nurse told me if I was starving to death to go ahead and eat something. I almost passed out at work I was so hungry. Those ridiculous protein drinks do NOT curb the hunger. I had my pre-op physical today and everything was fantastic. I am praying for you and I know if you know to your heart this is the right thing, then it is. Listen to yourself first and foremost. We will meet again on the losing side. Hooray for you!!!!

Marianna, we are having surgery the same day! We will be meeting again on the losing side. Good luck through everything. I'm going through the liquid diet too. I am hungry and a bit weak. It will all be worth it though, right?
