OK, this is going to be blunt...What can I expect to do as far as sex goes after surgery. How long before I can have GENTLE intercourse. And heres the biggie...How long before I can perform oral sex. I am sorry if I am affending anyone! I just don't know who to ask, and you guys are always so helpful.

My husband was concerned about getting intimate earlier, because he saw how bloated I was the day after surgery (from the lap gases) and was afraid I'd explode! I felt ready about a week post-op, but my husband is just now getting over the squeamishness. I'll slap some bandages over the lap incision scars and tackle him tonight... Oral sex does not count as fluid intake.

Take it easy? Are you kidding? It's been two weeks... GIMME! FYI, there's a Sex Before & After WLS board on OH. All you ever wanted to know about post-op sex and a whole heck of a lot more. Not for those with delicate sensitivities!

Yeah, i guess if your one of US and comfortable talking about sexual topics it can be sort of funny. BUT, this is SERIOUS STUFF. My marriage is already on sort of shakey ground. If I take out the sex too lord only knows what could happen. I've got to get this together! P Kitty said there is a s[ecific message board for this topic. Where is it???

Click on the Communities link - it's near the end of the Other Forums listings. You can also get there from the main entrance (second to last items under Member Forums).

I asked my PCP if the surgery would enhance my libido (I seem to have none, and we go MONTHS between intimacies)... she said "why do you think pregnancy is a side affect of the surgery". Apparently when my hormones get back to normal... so will my urges. The book I have says a few weeks after surgery... I wouldn't think oral would be a prob, unless you were in an uncomfortable position... Shannon
