Everything has come together.

My surgery is scheduled for eight days from today and I am extremely excited. I never thought I would be so excited and look forward to having major surgery. I have been very blessed in that I received approval from my insurance company immediately. I had difficulty with them regarding getting them the necessary papers (doctors records, hospital records, etc.). Each time they requested something different (3 days in a row), I got them the information, drove 30 miles each direction to their home office, and hand delivered it to them. Obviously, they could not say they had not received the information. Anyway, I was approved for my operation on a Thursday at around 2:00 P.M., I did my sleep study that very evening, and I did my first visit to the psychologist the very next morning. The next week was my second psych visit, met with the nutritionist, and did my pre-op. It has been quite a whirlwind! I am a junior in nursing school and had finals the following week. I was cramming for finals while waiting in doctors offices. This week I have my pre-op appointment with my bariatric surgeon, and surgery is a week from Tuesday! I can't believe all of this is going to happen in about 3 1/2 weeks! I appreciate everyone who has sent me e-mails of encouragement! Thank you for your time and prayers. I'll update again soon. T.

Congratulations! You are so lucky that your insurance approved your surgery. I've tried for 11 years and they wouldn't budge.
