Didn't know that this board was around. I had a lap band on May 6 and went home on the 7th. Haven't needed any pain medication both in and out of the hospital. I'm cutting up my medications in order to take them. I can't crush them and take them because the taste makes my gag. Started my phase 2 pureed food diet today. Ate some baby food. It actually tasted ok.

Harvey, That is great. I have to stay on liquids for two weeks. I had the gastric bypass so I have no stomach acids to dissolve the pills so I have to crush them. Congrats on your surgery and on your weight loose. Penny

HEY!!! Me, too!!! Well, I had RNY, not LapBand, but it was exactly one week ago today. Good Job! Good luck on the purees and I hope you have a nice, quiet recovery.

Lap bands are so amazing. I know someone in my local support group that had her lap band in the morning, was home by noon and at her kid's pack meeting that night. She, like you, has experienced no pain. It's amazing how far lap band surgery has come! Congrats on your first week!! I can't crush pills either - eww!! I break them in half and pray my system absorbs them! Welcome to the pureed food stage. Keep us posted on your progress!! Hugs, Trisha -56 lbs
