I'm on my full liquid diet. I have to drink 1.5-2 l per day. I can drink milk 1%, no fat yougurt, juce, no sugar tea and so on. I called to my dietician and asked how much i can drink per one time. she said that i can drink 40 g. and i have to drink it 20 min. i'm confused....if so...that means i have to drink all the time, because i gave to drink 1.5-2 l. And it's hard to drink 40 ml or grams for 20 min. What i have to do? lick it?

I just had surgery may 2nd. When I came home I was sure I'd be going back for dehydrating. It's hard at first, be patient. I know none of us want to hear that word. Now I can get all my requird liquid down plus. And yes at first it felt like I'm constantly trying to eat and drink enough. I told my husband I spend more time think about my diet now than I ever did pre-op. Soon things will just be automatic. One day I woke up and it was just easier. Good luck and I wish you well! Tammy

40 grams is 1/3 cup. Just sip it. Don't gulp it. My dietitician told me not to have more than 8oz of fluid in 30 mins. But everyone is different. Do what you can. And 1.5-2 liters is a GOAL - you are newly post up. Don't rush to get there. Take it slow and do what you can. I know I couldn't get in 1.5 liters when I was fresh out of surgery. My gosh!! So just do what you can. Your body is still swollen (internal organs) and healing. Hugs, Trisha -56 lbs
