Could use some positive thoughts right now....

As you guys may remember, I'm scheduled for surgery on 5-9-05 at 10:30 am. I have an immune deficiency, so I don't fight infections as well as "normal" people do. So, knowing this, my surgeon had my immune system tested and spent the better part of Friday afternoon trying to get in touch with an immunologist for a phone consult to answer his questions about my condition. I may have to have an infusion of donor antibodies before surgery, which is fine with me, but let's get the show on the road!!! Here it is Saturday night at almost 10 pm, and I still don't know if I'm having surgery on Monday morning or not. The surgeon is supposed to call me over the weekend to let me know what's going on, but I've yet to hear. If I don't hear by noon tomorrow, I am planning on calling his office to talk to the surgeon on call. If I don't get anywhere with him/her, I'm showing up for surgery on Monday morning. What would you guys do??? Thanks!!! Ashleigh

Hi Ashleigh - Surgery Monday also (only I know for sure) I would prepare for surgery as scheduled. Even if it's postponed, at least you can say you were ready. Keep the positive energy flowing, of course, but be ready for change. Best of luck on both fronts! Joe

Ashleigh, Another Monday here, I would absolutely keep your thoughts and actions moving forward for Monday. All they can tell you is no and MAKE them do it Tuesday!!! I would call today and insist on an answer sunce most doc, if they work weekends work Saturday. I am the nicest pushy person you would want to meet, and a little whining never hurt anybody!!! I would say pray, keep focused and positive and make them give you an answer today, if they wont, SHOW UP!!! Good Luck and God Bless! Heidi
