:o) Hello
I had my surgery on May 4th at Portsmouth Hosp, and I got home yesterday right before lunchtime.
I am so glad to be home!
The surgery was uneventful, even though I don't remember much of Wednesday at all, due to being knocked out and then pain meds in my IV. I am still very sore, but I am moving around well. I have TONS of bruises on my arms from the IV's, because I was dehydrated. The DR. says this is normal to be dehydrated, it's just not a pleasant experience to have your arms jabbed over and over.
My mom is here visiting from Maryland and my husband took off 2 weeks of work as well, so I have plenty of helpful 'nurses'.
I wish everyone the best of luck with this surgery! The first evening, I was in alot of pain, and cried and wished I had never done this to myself. But 3 days later, I get better everyday, and I know this was the right decision for me. My advice is when you can, drink the water slowly, but as much as you can. I drank more than what was expected and I was even up and pushing my IV around on my 2nd day and the doctors love that!
