I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM

HAS ANYBODY EVER HAD THEIR ESOPHECUS WRAPPED THAT IS HAD THIS TYPE OF SURGERY, AND IF SO DID YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS DURING OR AFTER YOUR SURGERY, PLEASE HELP ME TO KNOW, I AM VERY FRIGHTENED OF HAVING THIS PROCEDURE. THANK YOU HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY, CINDY F.

Having your esophagus wrapped? I've never heard of anything like that. Have you had weight loss surgery? Or is this supposed to be some type of it? Good day to you too, Kathy

I just read up on this. You had your esophagus wrapped due to GERD in the past and you are wondering if you can have gastric bypass surgery following that? Best of luck to you! kathy

I HAD MY OTHER SURGERY IN 2000 AND NOW I AM WAITTING TO HEAR BACK FROM MY SURGEON WHAT TYPE THEY ARE GOING TO USE, I JUST WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE EVER HAD THIS TYPE OF SITUATION, ALSO I HAVE EMPHESEMIA, PHYLEBITIS, SLEEP APNEA, I COULD GO ON BUT I THANK YOU FOR OPENING MY E-MAI TO SEE IF YOU COULD HELP. You GI Dr and your surgeon should work together on this. If things can get healed and you can get opened up, you should be fine. They wont do anything that is dangerous to you on purpose. That is why they have so much pre-op test. Take it one step at a time. Barb in CA

Cindy: I have reflux disease and was occasionally choking and throwing up when eating. One night I had severe chest pain. After EKG they sent me in for an endoscopy procedure. When I woke up the doctor explain they had stretched my throat which had narrowed due to reflux disease. That was a couple years ago. I don't know if this is similar/same/not at all helpful, but there are my 2 cents worth. My lap RNY is scheduled for next Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Paula
