I HAVE A QUESTION

MY DOCTOR SAID MY LIVER AND SPLEEN IS ENLARGE WILL THEY CANCEL MY SURGERY THE DATE FOR MY SURGERY IS MAY 20 SOME BODY PLEASE HELP ME. MELANIE

Hi Melanie, I had the same problem... my Surgeon said it is common and can be due to fatty infiltration... isn't that a nice word? The liver can also be enlarged when you have Gall stones. My surgery is still on schedule. Hope that helps and good luck. Christy Leigh

SO ITS OK DO THEY GIVE YOU SOMETHING OR IT GOING TO BE OK MY COUSIN BECAUSE I HAVE ENLARGE LIVER AND SPLEEN BECAUSE IM BIG . SO I SHOULDNT BE SCARED JUST BE HAPPY THAT MY SURGERY IS 3 WEEKS ON MAY 20 THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRISTY I WAS SO SCARED THAT THEY WILL CANCEL MY SURGERY BECAUSE OF THE ENLARGE LIVER AND SPLEEN PLEASE WRITE ME BACK.

I don't think you have anything to worry about Melanie... I was scared they were going to cancel me too but the nurse said it was common to see this with overweight people. Do you have to have your Gall bladder removed too? Try not to worry to much... and let me know what you find out. I didn't have to take anything for it. They just said they would do a liver biopsy before surgery which is something my surgeon does for everyone. I'll keep you in my prayers. Christy

Hi Melanie, My Dr. put me on a low carb diet to shrink my liver because, I guess that is where you store extra carbs. So, you might try that. It's a hard diet though, no bread, not milk, only 30 carbs a day sheesh! I started adding up all of the carbs I had eaten in a day and it was over 200! It has been a struggle, but I know it will be worth it on May 27th when I have my surgery. Good luck!! Meg
