My surgery is May 16th, I have an appointment with the dietition May 5th. Will she put me on a special diet before surgery? I keep hearing about a liquid diet.
brenda i am on my liquid diet now from my dr. i will meet with the dietcian on the 4th. i don't expect her to change any of it for me. my surgery is set for may 9th
every program and dr is different i guess

Yes every doctor and program is different. So you will be in for a surprise. Some doctor just require that you do not gain any weight after your pre-op visit. For your sake I hope that you don't have to go on liquids. .

I am one week posy op
my doc put my on clear liquids and vegetables 2- weeks befor surgery!
In doing this I dropped 32 pounds befor surgery .
It shrinks the liver and cuts risk way back .Also no bowel prep .
