May 2 surgery date!
Lisa,
I know you are nervous, I am too even though my surgery date is not until the 25th! Just focus on all the things you have wanted to do, but have been unable to due to your weight...riding a horse, hiking, crossing your legs, fitting in a seat belt! I am so happy for you...this is just the begining of your new life.
My friend who lives in Maui, got the surgery about 2 years ago. She is healthy, happy, and weights half of what she did! She can eat most anything now just small portions. She dances, snorkles, and even has a motorcycle now.
You will be able to do all that and whatever else you want to do, but can not due to the weight issues today.
Good luck...and congratulations for being brave enough and caring enough about your health to take this leap of faith.
I will check back on this site post op!
I was actually told (this was about 60 lbs, and 5 years, ago) that I was to heavy to go horseback riding. The entire family went to Tenn. on a vacation and I had to be left behind. Because of the way we were saddled up, none of my family knew what had happened until the ride had begun, so I was left, alone, for almost 2 hours. I sat under a tree and bawled. I was humiliated and angry. My family thru a fit when they got back, but the stables kept saying that they didn't have a saddle big enough for me. I felt about 2" tall, especially since the next batch of riders had shown up and were listening.
I've always wanted to join in Martial Arts and am looking forward to joining once the weight starts to come off. Another friend of mine does bellydancing and I've been thinking about that, too. Both are good excersize, as well as fun.
Thanks so much! If anyone is interested, I wrote something about what is happening on a site I write at. Here is the URL:

It's actually a product review site, but they have areas like this for writing your thoughts. I've thought about seeing if they'll add Obesityhelp.com to the database so I can review the site and let others know what a great helps it's been!
Thanks to everyone for the support! I appreciate it!!
