I've started my pre-op testing. Had my upper GI Friday. I have an echocardiogram Wednesday (took Phen-Fen years ago - doc always asks patients who did to take this test) and then my chest x-ray, blood tests, urinanalysis, arterial blood gases and gallbladder sonogram on Friday along with my nurses/anesthesia interview. My pre-op physical with my surgeon is on May 4th and my nutrition seminar is on Saturday the 7th. I'm starting to believe it really is going to happen! Only 27 days to go! Wow, Brandi... Your surgery is coming up fast! Best to go to the hospital really tired that morning not being a morning person. You'll be in the pre-op area groggy when they get you hooked up and ready to go. Then you can sleep through it all. I just had back surgery a few weeks ago and had so much fun in the pre-op area. Was joking with everyone. Kept me calm. Thanks for the comments on Rich. He has done fabulous and I hope to do the same. Kathy 5/20/2005

Good Morning, I am a May baby, too! My original birthday is the 30th and my new surgery birthday is the 4th. Yesterday, I saw the surgeon again. Tomorrow I see the nutritionist, and Thursday morning I go to the hospital for the pre-op blood work. Yesterday it hit me that after all these months it is NEXT week I know that this is what I need to do (found out yesterday that along with all my other co-morbidities I am now diabetic), but I am a little bit nervous. Yesterday I spoke with a few other patients at my surgeon's office and told them that despite meeting people and writing to them and knowing that they have lost hundreds of pounds, I keep thinking that I will lose about 30 pounds and my body will say, "That's it. I'm done". Does anyone else feel the same way? All the best to you. May God hold you in the palm of His hand. Hugs, Barbara Snellings Atlanta, Georgia Lap RNY 5-04-05 Dr. Christoher Hart

Hey, Vicki! Commack, been past there many times. Commack Motor Inn. Gosh, I remember when a friend that lived out that way was having out of town guests and his mother suggested the CMI. He had to explain to her that they rented by the hour. I grew up in Queens, went to St. John's, worked at Sperry in Great Neck and moved to VA in 1986. Been here ever since. My sister lives in Floral Park so I'm up that way once in a while. She also has a summer house in East Quogue. Take care, Kathy
