New kid has a date!!!
Hi all, Finally I am approved & I have a date, May 30, 05. It is music to my ears, you have all probably heard the dancing, singing, hollaring all over by now, (yes thats what that NOISE was). Thank you all for your support. Finally this little (use that word loosely) 4'9" girl is going to be little for real & lots of energy,. Now for the countdown any suggestions on getting ready please let me know all advise is deeply appreciated.
Thanks,
Brenda
Congratulation on your date! I know you must be excited.
I have started praticing taking really small bites, putting my fork or spoon down between each bite, timing my meals so that they are at least 30 minutes long and chew, chew, chewing!!! I'm hoping that this will make the transition easier, since it will already be sort of a habit. I have begun researching available products and preparing questions for my dietician regarding supplements and protein shakes/bars, etc. I am leaving earlier, parking further away and walking, to get my body used to the additional exercise. Other than that, I can't think of anything. I am having an Lap RNY on May 23, God willing.
Take Care,
Sharon
Congrats!!! I am drinking my 80 oz of water daily and working on my pre-op diet w hich is protein and not starches. I am staying away from sweets and walking and exercising too. Hope this helps. Did you get your protein powder? I like unjury, and did y ou get your post op vitamins etc, to have ready for yourself?
Sharon,
Practicing to eat slowly now will definitely benefit you later. My husband did that weeks before his open RNY and it was easy for him when he started eating. Even while eating pureed foods, he would overchew it.
Another good thing is deep breathing. Sit and take deep breaths in and out. This gets your lungs in good shape for the anesthesia too. The walking will do the same thing.
Good luck to you,
Kathy
