Holding Myself Accountable - STILL (Day 8)
Holding Myself Accountable - STILL! (Day 8)
STILL GOING STRONG! I have so much more will power than I thought
Here is what I am eating today (Monday):
Breafast - NADA - I forgot my protein shaker at home!!!
Lunch - Salad (Lettuce, Red Pepper, Shredded Cheddar, 4oz chicken)
Snack - Stick of cheese, 1c. Jello
Dinner - 1 Hard Boiled Egg, 1/2c. Cottage Cheese
830 snack at work - Carb Freedom Yogurt
Treat - this morning at work there were chocolate covered rice krispies so I had a 1" x 1" chunk.
Total: 714 calories, 77g+ protein (minues the treat)
Normally I would get in tons more protein, but I forgot my shaker at home for my protein shake... and it just doesnt get everything if you stir it in! So yea. I did really good this weekend - better than I thought. What helped was writing everything down on a piece of paper that I kept on my fridge. I was home all weekend and I could have eaten the whole kitchen if I let myself.
I will pretty much be having the same menu through out the week. I bought just enough food to last me til Friday, then it is back to IL for the holiday weekend. That is going to be TOUGH! SO much food around. I just have to remember to only eat 3 meals and maybe 2 snacks. The choices will be hard though... my family isnt into cooking "light".... its all about REAL BUTTER in EVERYTHING.
Last Monday Weight: 194.5lbs
Today: 187lbs
1 week and a 7.5lb loss... not bad... That hasnt happened since I was 2 months post-op.
I will post again tomorrow.

Hi Melissa,
I haven't replied to your posts about being accountable, but I am so happy that you are still doing so. Seeing someone else staying on their plan is a great incentive to the rest of us. I did an entire month of very healthy eating last May, and it really paid off in results. Since then, I have been pretty good about my eating, and my weight loss has been good. I refuse to deny myself at the Christmas dinner, as I know I'll only be able to eat such small portions anyway. And, I now have faith in myself that I'll be back on the right eating path the rest of the time. I have weighed myself daily since day one. I know so many people discourage this, but I truly do feel it has helped keep me disciplined. While it can be a bit discouraging during a plateau, it also keeps me from gaining weight. I refuse to let the scale go up more than 2 pounds above my lowest weight without starting a protein regimen. I have failed my entire life at weight loss maintainance, and I vow that I will be successful this time.
Keep up the great work.

Thanks! The support I have gotten on here during my first week of this diet has been incredible. I hope all of this hard work pays off. I too will be enjoying in XMAS. I just have to be aware of what I am putting on my plate and how much. That is the only trick. I will most likely sneak in some carbs though - my mom's sweet potatoes ROCK!
I weigh myself too - everyday. I only record it on Mondays but it helps me know where I am at. Actually I weigh myself 2-3 times a day. It is almost a little psycho, but the minute I gain, I want to know! I dont think that will every change! Some people are so against weighing everyday - I am so not one of them.
Good luck to you!

Thanks for posting! I have had trouble with logging in and I know that it has had a negative effect on my weight loss. Even with a new password I am having trouble...but...anyway....
This morning I am up 10lbs from my lowest weight! and 15lbs from my goal!! Amazing how easily we can slip. I just put a 4 pack of Slimfast Low Carb shakes in the fridge! I am getting ontrack today. No reason to wait until after the holidays.
Plan for the next 4 days..
Pre Break Coffee with 1 scoop any whey powder and sf hazelnut creamer 17gms
Brek Slimfast Low Carb shake 20gm protein
Lunch Cheese stick and sliced turkey or tuna
Snack Slimfast Low Carb shake
Dinner what high protein low carb meal I make my family eat
Snack Low Carb shake
That should give me about 80+ grams of protein and the shake are just 200 cal each with 5 grams of carb. I am going to do this Tue, Wed, Thur and Fri.
We'll see what happens.
