When it rains...
It absolutely pours.
The dog had a bad seizure earlier. Scared the beejeebers out of me. Never had a seizure before but hey... she will be 19 in February.
She ran through the house barking like a maniac and crying beforehand. Guess she felt it coming. I just held onto her. Kept her from swallowing her tongue. Tried to comfort her as she drooled all over me and pooped on herself.
She is now at the emergency vet nearby. Estimates $1000 for watching her, x-rays, bloodwork, urinanalysis, etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if she had cancer. She seems to be getting thinner yet eating the same and she has been restless pacing before she settles down.
I didn't need this right now but when do you ever? And we are supposed to leave her in a week for several days at a kennel? How can I possibly do that in good faith?
She has had a wonderful life. 3 mommies (I'm number 2) and 2 daddies (Rich is number 2). Called my ex since we "share" custody. He just called back again to see how I was. Nice of him. Anyway, guess I'll know more once the tests are done.
Calgon, take me away? Someone take me away? Bora Bora would be nice...

I just called the vet. She is resting well. Ate a bit, drank a bit. No other seizures thus far.
Kathy
omg, Kathy..... My heart really goes out to you. I really wish I could do something for you. I have lost all my animals in the past 16 months. They were all older too. But it IS NEVER a good time and it is always hard. I think the holidays make everything seem more difficult too. Not sure why that is, but it is.
You are one of the strongest people I have encouuntered on these boards and I am so sorry for all you are suffereing.
GOD BLESS, and try to stay strong.
