Laurie, how'd it go?
UGH!! Well, upon arrival I was informed that they couldn't find my medical records. They were "misplaced". So the doctors had NOTHING to go by and the appointment was pretty much a complete waste of time.
They did another round of blood work, and depending on what that says will determine their next step with me.
They said for me to call them next week for the results and gave me an appointment for two months from now.
SIGH - UGH - GGGGGRRRRRR

Hey Laurie,
That was really crappy of them. They are a huge institution and things do fall through the cracks. This is a suggestion, always call the day before to make sure they have everything they need. My mother has received soooo much treatment there, I feel I know just about every department. Yes, I know you shouldn't *have* to do that, but if it saves you some time and aggravation, it might work. My offer still stands, if you need someone to traverse the system with you, let me know.
Also, I keep a notebook for every family member that records each and every doctors visit, and what was discussed. It is small enought to fit in my purse, and I take notes either during the visit, or immediately thereafter, before I forget what was said. This has saved me so many times over the years, especially with my mother's complicated history. I started my own notebook the day I began my weight loss surgery journey.

Thanks for the support Debra. I definately won't be bringing dh on the next visit. It was just too much for him to work all night and then be up all day and 1/2 the night with me. (he got kind of grouchy after being up for over 29+ hours)
I LOVE the notebook idea for doctor appointments!!!!! What a great way to keep track of things and in an organized way.
I can see how things would get lost, it just is frustrating when I've driven all that way!!! Plus, I did ask if they had everything they needed for my appointment and they did tell me yes, they had my records and I was all set. But I guess the records got to the right "department" and NOT to the doctor I was assigned to. *ggggrrrrrr*
I'll let you know the next time i have an apt. and maybe we can get together.
