What ya guys doing today? This weekend?
Good morning. It's 5:20am and even though I don't have to work today, I'm up.... I'm off for Veteran's Day today but Aaron has to work so he's going to take Liv to the sitter's so me and Holden can pal around.
There's a nasty little 20 person greasy spoon down the street that I used to take Holden to all the time when he was a kid. We're gonna hit there for breakfast and then go hang out at the mall for a while. Then I'll take him to his dad's and come home and do some housework type stuff. Aaron only works until 1 on Fridays so when he comes home we're going to grab a late lunch. Things are okay, a little sad still but we're hanging in there... He went out with the boys last night and when he came home he woke me up (I think he was a little drunk) and asked if we could have a Divorce Party at our local hangout... I told him we'd talk about it later... I'm actually in much better shape about this than he is. I know this is the right decision, and he does too, but I think he's still kind of scared. He's never had to do things for himself before - his mom set up his last apartment, before we married, paid his bills, all that. I told him I'd help him get set up but then he had to learn to do it himself... 37 years old and the man doesn't know how to set up a phone account...
Anyway, his best friend, Bob, is coming in this weekend so I'm going to go out tonight with some friends while they play in the garage. Rick was still holding on last night but he was finally starting to go downhill so I'm probably going to have a memorial service to go to tomorrow. Bob and Aaron are going househunting tomorrow and then tomorrow night they're going out and I'll stay home.
Sunday, Aaron and Liv are going to Ohio to see his parents. He's told his mom what's going on but only talked briefly so he's going in for the day. I'm not going, he needs to do this on his own. So, Sunday is a totally freebie day for me. I think I'm just going to drink coffee and read a book. Sunday night, I'm going to see Toby Keith with some freinds - seriously looking forward to that!
So, there you have it, the my ramblings and social calendar for the weekend... What have you guys got going on?
Well, Becky Sue - you've sure got a great attitude through this. That is wonderful and that is what will get the kids through this.
Geeee, you've got more of a social calendar then I do - that's for SURE!!! Today I've got a list of phone calls to make, apts. to set up, and I've got to take my dd to the eye doctor (she failed her school exam and DOESNT want glasses).
Tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday: We're pulling up every inch of carpet from our house. My allergies are bad and all the carpet is ancient and causing me lots of problems. After we get it all pulled then we're going to fix any weak spots in the subfloor and put a sealant down on the floor. I have no clue what we'll put down on the floor, but it won't be carpet.
Yup - that's it!!! No social anything for me this weekend, just workin' around the house.
You enjoy yourself this weekend (especially at the concert). Im' sure it will make the 'reality' of Aaron's househunting a little easier.
>>>>>>>
Gee... pulling up carpet sure sounds like fun.... NOT!
I'm really trying to have a good attitude, not just for me and the kids, but for Aaron. I really do know this is the best decision and to be honest, I'm looking forward to getting things done and settled... Right now, the house is kind of a mess, emotionally, and it will be nice to have some peace.
I am so looking forward to Toby Keith - he's one of my favorites and I'm going with some girlfriends and it'll be a blast. Next weekend, Aaron and I are going to see Bob Segar in Indy, which will be a lot of fun, too.
Hey Chick-ita!
Sounds like an interesting weekend.
A divorce party, huh? Strange yet intriguing. Rich and I had a party a month after my divorce from Bill was final. It was sort of a house-warming since he moved in with me. But Bill wasn't invited. LOL!
Have fun with all your doings especially the one-on-one time with Holden today and the concert on Sunday.
As for me...
I'm working today. I'm not sure if I'll work the full day or not. I'm going to wear a jogging suit. Don't get dressed up on holidays. Well, I don't get dressed up on most days but I do not wear jogging suits on non-holidays. LOL!
Tomorrow, Rich and I will hit the gym. Then drive out to Leesburg. We'll have lunch. Then we are off to the tattoo parlour to get my birthday present. Pictures will eventually be posted. Then we'll come home. Rich will head to work - he is working 8 ot midnight. Then I'm heading out to a nice Russian restaurant with my friend Ingrid. Her birthday is today and mine is next week so every year (since we met in 1974 - first day of high school) we do a birthday celebration of some sort.
Sunday - no set plans so far.
Have a good one!
Hugs, K
I'm off today, but I brought a ton of work home with me. Ever since I got that promotion, my in box has become the office dumping ground. Oh well, I guess I asked for it. I'm about three weeks behind in my homework. I just haven't had time to do it because I've been working late at the office and bringing work home with me on weekends. My house is beyond dirty, beyond grimy. It's just plain disgusting. I guess I could be running the vacuum cleaner right now instead of being on here, but anyway, that's my weekend - work, school work, and house cleaning. Fuuuuunnn!
Today Im working... but traffic was awesome.... never stopped once and its usually stop/go.... ....
Tomorrow is my oldests birthday... she will be 12.... one of my joys of life (the 5yo is the other)... She is sooooooooooo much like me that it scares me... Im very proud of her. She has been going to the gym with me all week and working pretty hard... She is gorgeous and I want her to be healthy too... we focus on strength and health... I try not to use the F word.. So far her wt is fine and we want it to stay that way.
This weekend is the ususal housework, cleaning... having a family birthday dinner for Melissa Sat night.. her pick of restaurant.... Smoky Bones (BBQ) I like it...
Thats it for me... Celebrate each day of your life... you are worth it.
Karen
I think your weekend sounds good, and I really think you and Aaron are handling this all really well, and in the long run Liv will appreciate that. Good for you, I know it's not easy.
Today I'm doing a 2 our workout class that kicks my butt, then I think I'll go to the mall and do some Christmas shopping. No plans tonight, I am fighting a cold, and I'm sure I'll be beat. Hopefully movie watching.
My husband is going sailing to the islands for the weekend, so it'll be my son (12) and I - we always have fun together. Maybe we'll go to a movie. Some of my girlfriends are having a garage sale, so I might go help them and hang out, then they're having a girls night that night. If I'm feeling up to it and have somewhere for Timmy to go, I might join them. Other than that, hanging out and trying to get rid of this cold!
It is so much fun to live vicariously and read about everyone else's adventures. You guys do some cool stuff.
I AM AT GOAL.
Yes, I said it. After an entire lifetime of obesity, as of yesterday, my BMI says "normal", and the scale god said 150 for two days in a row. It has been hovering between 151-153 for about two weeks now, so I am overjoyed.
And, I am wearing my size 8 Levi's WITH my shirt tucked in. Never, ever would I have done that before.
And, for the first time since my tt seven weeks ago, I am feeling energy. I cleaned my house yesterday and today. Imagine seven weeks without the toilets being cleaned, yuck. And, I worked out today for the first time since mid-Sept. I only did a 15 minute workout, but I didn't feel like I was going to die after, so I am starting on the 8 week challenge.
My hubby is out of town visiting his mother, long story, and I have a friend coming for the weekend staying at my house, (guess that's why I cleaned the bathrooms ).
Unfortunately, now I have to go to a class all day Saturday and Sunday for work, so I won't get to spend as much time with my friend. Monday I have to go back to the surgeon to have fluid aspirated, for the third time.
Off to the grocery store, so there is food in the house for guests.
