18 month check-up
My surgeon left the state of Florida to move to Alabama so I have a booklet of what tests I need done.I am useing my primary care but they arent as knowledgeable as vaughns office was.Sometimes the pcp freaks when the gastric doctor didnt so ...what to do? I am going to have the tests run and where can I compare my results to that I will have a educated reaction about them? Does this make sense?Dr Vaughn has an office # in Alabama do you think I should call them there...seems like he was starting a new life/practise there and really advised us to check out other doctors in our local area like our pcp.In the state of Fla nothing that is remotely inline with bypass bcbs wont touch.I did some med assis interning at the pcp's office thats why they have been so kind as to help me with my labs ect ..otherwise its out of pocket baby I am going to run my labs in Nov when they are due and then I think I'll call Vaughn ??!!?? whats a girls to do (haha) What would you smart ladies suggest.Hope everybodyis having a great day.I know its getting chilly up north I hear tomorrow we are getting some cold air... in the 60-70s ..plz dont hate (just kidding) atleast you guys have beautiful leaves and white beautiful snow.I remember I lived in upstate NY as a kid ~Laura~
Ummm.. I'll take your temps in the 70's and you can have my "beautiful leaves".
That sucks about your surgeon moving out of state. I don't quite understand what you are saying about insurance - I'm a lil' dense sometimes so you have to break it down to me! Anyway, how come you can't just find another WLS doc to monitor you in Florida? Your insurance won't pay?
BCBS ppo wont cover any gasric bypass stuff like some of the blood work isnt covered.I need to find one that is willing maybe to read my lab results for a office visit.Florida isnt the greatest for insurance my policy states nothing with gastric by pass in medical terminology.I love the warm weather hate the hurricanes but love the sunshine
My PCP is basically running the show as it relates to my labs. She orders them and I get a copy and take it to my surgeon but if I need changes in vitamins or anything... my PCP tells me what to add therefore the surgeon doesn't have to. While it is great to be in touch with a surgeon for follow-ups, a good PCP who is reading up on WLS or wants to keep informed can handle the labs and supplements. Important thing would be to make sure that the PCP runs all the tests that are needed.
Good luck with it, Laura!
