Getting fuller faster via pilates?

Some folks on the grad-ossg yahoogroup are swearing that after having taken some pilates classes and working/developing the core muscles (abs, etc) they have found a surprising side benefit...they are feeling fuller faster. One posted the phenomenon and others have agreed. Thought I'd share that tidbit. Perhaps we'll have some takers who will be our guinea pigs and give it a try. Kathy

I took a class years ago. It was hard as heck. But I tell you, each time I went things got easier and my body felt better and better. I was still obese but it was improving. Ought to try one again... or do a DVD. Kathy

I've been thinking about getting a DVD, but to be honest... they kind of scare me.... Speaking of which, weren't you going to try chicometrics?

I did chico for a few weeks. Tape measure didn't budge. All the hype with no payoff. It's an okay workout. A bit old-fashioned but not bad. I really enjoyed pilates. Honest. Kathy

Kathy, There is a pilates class at my gym at 8 pm on Monday and Wednesday nights. That seems so late to me! But, I could sure use the side effect you describe....maybe I'll try it. I've lost a total of 3.4 lbs since I joined WW 5 weeks ago...such a slow process for me now! Lori

Laugh, Pilates, Laugh We don't need pilates, see my corset post. That is pilates bitterness speaking. I checked out from my library, "Pilates for Dummies", guess what? Yep, I am too dumb. This was a VERY humbling experience, as I've never considered myself dumb, and I've been working out faithfully for months. I just couldn't do the core stuff. After talking to my tummy tuck surgeon this week, apparently my core muscles were in pretty terrible shape, as in not much left there at all. That, and three hernias. So I am hoping that someday (heaven only knows how long) when I recover from this latest surgery insanity, I will have some muscles I can actually try Pilates with. Even for Dummies. Debra M. vicodin is still my friend
