Think I've Figured It Out
OK - I thought for sure that my ban on McDonalds was a good thing. But then I gained 5 pounds in the first week of September (yes, I realize it isn't REAL weight, but it's not fun looking at the scales none the less)
Well, when I went grocery shopping I was looking for some good food to replace my burgers. I bought Whole Grain Bagels (lots of fiber) and cream cheese. I couldn't eat a whole one so I split them in half and lots of times I couldnt finish the half.
I ran out of bagels and forgot to buy more this week.........
Today I'm down 5 pounds, and I've lost one inch off my waist!!!!!
It was the BAGELS!!!!!!!!
No more bagels for me!
I'm meeting some wls friends at the mall today - think I'll celebrate and have my cheeseburger and apple dippers!!!
I know if I'm in the same room as a bagel, I'll add 5 lbs.
Glad to know you found your problem.
Bagels are definitely white flourish even if they have some whole wheat in 'em plus lots of gluten and stuff to plump 'em up. Lots of carbs. Back in my early diabetic days... I was put on insulin and told to eat... 60-65 grams of carbs at a sitting. Yup, you read that right! That was the ADA diet. Anyway, I could eat 4 slices of whole grain bread for 60 grams (15 grams each) measure my blood sugars and it would be as expected for after eating but if I had 60 grams from a bagel (or part of a bagel) my sugars would be way, way up there. All carbs are not equal at all. All food are not created equal.
Enjoy your burger and dippers!
