Jeers and Cheers
Weekend Jeers and Cheers:
Jeers...
...leaving my sick husband home alone
...Ernesto who was with me both Friday heading to NJ and Saturday from NJ to NY
...Andre Agassi's back
...my friend Pat's husband who didn't come home until 1:30 am Friday night (schmuck)
...NY drivers
...BIL's niece's husband who grabbed a bit handful of her arse while standing in front of my sister's birthday cake (just lovely)
...my sister's friend Phyllis who told me I look "gaunt" but that "gaunt was good" (this is the woman who got kicked out of Weigh****chers because she got too thin)
...too many people who drank too much
...my BIL's niece (28 years old) curling up like a baby on her mother's lap
...my BIL's niece (28 years old) crying that she had to go home with her in-laws
...damn seating arrangements at the party - BIL's sister must have done that - dad, Peggy and I ended up at a table by ourselves (2 old farts (Phyllis' dad and his golf buddy)) rather than with my sister - heck - we are out-of-town family - what-in-the-hell-was-she-thinking (this ended up being okay since I could make lots of wise cracks and many came over and sat with us and chatted)
...my dad's girlfriend's short-term memory issues - she kept asking over and over and over yet again who people were - it grew tiresome (perhaps she needs B12 - LOL!)
...trying to get to the hotel (it ain't easy to find)
...getting the hotel bill and seeing that it said the room was $306 for the two nights (this is NY remember) and knowing that I prepaid $375 per room (I have contacted Yahoo travel with a strong tone and let them know my displeasure)
Cheers...
...that my husband feels better
...Andre Agassi
...seeing my friend Pat and her kids and their new dog Sweetie
...seeing my dad
...seeing my sister
...seeing my sister surprised
...getting lots of compliments - hearing over and over "you look great/fabulous"
...my brown dress!
...my BIL's niece (28 years old) almost falling off her shoes
...meeting my dad's girlfriend/significant other/golf buddy Peggy
...the food Saturday night (scallops wrapped in bacon, melon wrapped in proscuttio, cheese, lamb chops...)
...lunch Sunday (cold cuts and german potato salad)
...the food Sunday night (grilled chorizo, shrimp and salmon in green sauce (parsley))
...nice hotel (new or recently renovated)
...fridge in my hotel room!

Sounds like a mixed bag, huh?
Well I am happy for you there were so many cheers. warm moments with family and joy seeing sis surprised. Especially with all she has gone thru - it must have been especailly a sweet blessing to see her happiness.
Dealing with humans sometimes is not easy.
I ask God sometimes , WHY he would go to so much trouble and to such great lengths to have realtionships with - HUMANS?
...then remember...I is one, multi-faceted warts and all...
and it returns me to gratitude.
I sure can't change { them } but with his help and support from others I can keep plugging away at my character defects. (Which there is, of course no shortage of )
ho hum...
BTW, the food sounded great, a fine feast! yummm.
