What an incredible feeling!
I've had one of the best days today in a long time!
I saw my PCP today, and we've decided to discontinue my hypertension medication! WooHoo! I've been taking it for 12 years and was up to 200 mg of Toprol XL a day pre op. That is ALOT of Toprol. So, after surgery, we had gradually decreased it over time. A month ago, we dropped the dose to 25 mg. and I did just fine. So, the doc said let's try no meds for a month and see what happens.
I am just so excited I can't stand it. I had no idea that taking medication was such a big deal to me until I was released from it. Health REALLY does mean everything!

Congratulations, Angie, that is good news. I understand the medication thing. I was able to get off my hypertension med right after surgery, and haven't wanted to take any other prescription since then. When I occaisonally have to take Celebrex for my knee pain, I am very aware of taking a drug. Probably most of us were on some medication for our co-morbitites pre-op, just being off of them is a victory.
