OT.......Sad Sad Chicken Story

Oh my gosh....I dont know who else to share this with! I have 3 Game Hens, 3 Longhorns and 1 big Black Chicken ....anyway...the neighbors stupid stupid dogs came down and killed 2 of them today. My poor daughter was so upset and I was so pissed!!! They called and will pay for some new chickens...but still...I am so mad and upset!!!!! My crazy rooster Rusty just keeps calling for them.....so sad!!!!

Aw, Jen, I'm so sorry... I'm a huge dog lover but I have no tolerance for that kind of crap... It's an owner's responsbility to control their animals at all times... I'm glad they're stepping up and taking responsibility for it.

Sorry about your hens. We used to have a fox that would get ours when we raised them. Sad news. Mary

Thank you ladies...I knew you could make me feel better! I have 3 dogs myself but they have never bothered my chickens. And they are a border collie, dalmation and spaniel beagle mix, you would think for sure they would chase them around. Last night after I posted my big black chicken died. It seemed that she had heat stroke. I tried to cool her off but it just didn't work. I am just so bummed. Luckily the chickens seem to have gotten over it already. The four hens and Rusty are out in the yard like nothing ever happened. It must be nice to be a "dumb animal" just eat, poop and walk around the yard!

Hey Jen, I wouldn't limit that behavior to animials... I work with some people that only, eat, sleep, poop and walk around aimlessly. Kate Z
