Its seems like I am so hyper since I have had my surgery.I am always restless and have a hard time calming down.I know I have spoke (not sure on this board) about not sleeping well too.The doctor prescribed a non addictive sleep aid lunesta to see if it will help me rest -so far hasnt helped me rest.I also noticed that when I had my TT done the pain meds didnt take the pain away and made me more hyper.Could the gastric bypass have changed my brain chemistry ?? rewired so to speak.I was always low key before now opposite. Its a good thing during the day but relaxation is so hard.Has anyone else noticed these type of symptoms??? ***Maybe its the weirdness in me coming out-haha **~laura~

Hi Laura, you have raised some good questions. I don't actually know the answers but may recommend trying some 'sleepy time' tea (celestial seasonings) to help you relax and wind down to rest. Also the vitamin shoppes and GNC etc sell a herb called { vallerian root } which is a calmative supplement. I think it is an ingredient in the anti-anxiety rx valium. Which could help you tune down the racy-ness. ( warning it does stink like old gym socks but if you can get it past your nose )...you'll do fine One thing that helps me get to sleep is a sound machine. I got mine at a yard sale for $1. It has several settings like : spring rain, heartbeat, white noise, babbling brook, and ocean waves. I put on the ocean waves ea. nt and off I go to dreamland. They are innexpensive in the dept. stores etc. * also I have a friend that swears that calcium calms her down and we gals can't get enough calcium. Let your doc know the Lunesta is NOT helping because he can try some other things maybe even via samples so it saves you $ as you search for what works. Hope you find some answers and relief. Mary
