Pain!!!!!!
Oh, my goodness that pain in my abdomen and back is just beyond belief. It literally makes me sweat it is so bad. My doctor has me on Lorcet EVERY 4 hours, 2 if necessary and sometimes it has been. It is mostly under my right ribcage and goes around to my back and all the way down my back mostly on the right side - even my spine hurts. I've had test after test and we're just not sure what it is. Top on their lists of "probables" are (get this)
1. Shingles - we're looking for any pimply type rashes or anything like that.
2. Kidney stone - even though I don't have any difficulty urinating or anything and nothing showed up on the CT scan.
3. Hepatitis A - the contaminated food one.
We redid a bunch a labs today to see if anything fits there. This is seriously probably the worst pain that I have ever had in my life. It is totally incapacitating. I've not eaten much of anything since Monday afternoon - I think since that time I've had a piece of toasts, 2 wheat thins, about 1/4 cup of applesauce, and a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup (my mom made it). That's it.
We're trying a bunch of different meds - Nexium in case it's an acid thing, Muscle relaxers as my back is in one huge knot, and he just gave me nortriptyline for some reason. I know he told me why but I don't remember what it was.
Anyway - keep praying. I'm hoping they find out soon what is wrong, I can't take this much longer.

Hi Michelle, My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry about your suffering such pain. My daughter had similar pain a couple yrs. ago and was totally incapicitated doubled up in a ball of pain. I was guessing a kidney stone because I'd had several but turned out it was a cyst on her ovary. It is hard when the mystery continues and little relief given. I am praying for you as I type. May you be comforted and brought relief and may the doctors have wisdom to help discern what's going on. We care about you and are with you in this difficulty.
Bless ya,
Mary
* I take the nortryptline for the fibro to assist in better sleep so the cycle of pain can be broken or at least lessened
Please read Christi Bixby's profile from Ontario Oregon. Your pain sounds very similar to her story. You may have a twisted or herniated bowel and it needs to be addressed immediately. I don't want to alarm you unnecessarily but if this is what your problem is, you don't want to delay!

Michelle!
I hope they figure out the cause of the pain and soon and get it fixed and you on the road to recovery. My BIL had shingles many years ago and the signs were obvious - open sores. It is related to chicken pox and the herpes virus.
Please be sure to get protein in even if it is just shakes or liquids. You need to keep your stretch up while they get you figured out.
Keep us posted!
HUGS, Kathy
Wow SP, you are going through the wringer. I pray you will find out soon what is going on. It is so frustrating to have no diagnosis.
I have not been a frequent poster, but I have been lurking. Let us know what happens.
Take care,
J
