Info about Vitamins
I'm trying to determine if I've been absorbing my B12 which is liquid but doesn't say "sublingual"... Came across this article and thought it was pretty interesting...

Especially interesting was this section:
The following chart compares absorption rates of delivery systems:
Delivery System
Rate of Absorption*(5)
Pill or tablet - 10%
Capsule - 20%
Gel Cap - 30%
Transdermal Patch - 45%
Sublingual Liquid - 50%
Intramuscular Injection - 90%
Intraoral or Sublingual Spray - 95%
Intravenous Injection - 100%
Yea, getting a shot in the butt always works best for me
FYI, for some that might have trouble finding a vitamin that delivers all the good stuff for our bariatric needs, try Optisource by Resource. You can get them online at resource.walgreens.com. They have 125mcg of B12 in each tab and you chew 4 per day. And they taste good! I've been using them since surgery and only recently had trouble with B12 (cause I let myself go).

Glad to hear you are on the shots!!
Those Optisource pills might have 125 mcg but I doubt you'd absorb it. We really do not absorb B12 from swallow or chewed pills. Sublingually, yes. Shots, most definitely!
Plus 500 mcg a day is a bit "light" on the B12 for my taste and experience. I was doing 2500 mcg a day sublingually and have no upped it based on levels dropping down a bit.
