Thinking about personal safety

After Jem's close call the other night I started thinking about what she said about how when we were MO many of us didn't consider ourselves at risk - Like who'd want to attack us anyway. Having lost significant amounts of weight we now may be targets attracting unsavory attention. Well I happened to notice this weekend how many women jog or walk alone with their headsets on. Even in rural rather secluded areas near us. I just wanted to mention that we all may want to re-think our personal safety issues. How can you hear if someone is approaching even a vehicle??? Listening to music is great fun when you exercise but could it cause one to be far less conscious of her surroundings? If caught offguard how would you defend yourself? Maybe it's because I have 4 daughters and am forever the 'Mama' but Jem's story really got me thinking. ** Like our grandma's always said " Better to be safe than sorry".

I do know what you mean!! I went to the American Idol concert last week. I was actually trolling out for a little attention....even though I am a happily married mom...it is just nice to know! But you gotta be careful what might be at the end of the hook! I do look good now...really good that night!!! But I kept it in check and just enjoyed and relished in the compliments! But I see how it could have easily gotten out of control many times.
