Changing Cycles

A womanly topic again. LOL! Appears my body is adjusting to a new pattern. My last cycles were 33 days, 34 days and from the looks of this one...32. Most interesting. I had 25-26 day cycles for so many years. What is interesting that I sometimes get a wee bit of breakthrough spotting at ovulation (had this checked with an endometrial biopsy a while back and all was fine) and I ovulated 2 weeks ago. I'm shocked by a 14 day luteal phase. I learned this crap back when I tried to have a baby with Colonel Combover and I know from BBT temping that I had a 10 day luteal phase (ovulation to period) which isn't normal and isn't enough to sustain a pregnancy. (The fertility issues appeared to be his (excessively low counts) though with my short phase - perhaps both of us were "off".) I am not trying here at age 45+ but it is fascinating to me that I may actually have a more "normal" cycle now and at this age. Whoda thunk that? Don't think this is menopause or peri-menopause but who knows. Kathy

I'm with you, Kathy - my cycles have been bizarre since surgery. Pre-daughter (13 years ago) I was 28 days so strictly that I could tell you what time of day and the exact day that I would start - seriously! Then, after daughter I was anywhere between 28-30 days. I could always guess it within 2-3 days. Post-son (8-1/2 years ago) they went anywhere from 26-35 days - couldn't usually tell when I was going to start but it was within that nine day period. Since surgery I will go anywhere between 14-40 days!! Seriously! I will generally go "about" 4 weeks, but sometimes it will be 2 weeks then I'll have a period - full blown one, not just spotting - then I'll go for 4 weeks again for a few months then not have one for six weeks or so then go for about 4 weeks - I dunno what's up with it. I'm only 37 so I don't think it's the menopause thing with me either, however there's only one or two women on either side of my family that still has their uterus at or above my age, so I don't know what my gynecological genetic history would be had they all still had their uteruses (or is ut uterii?) Uterii? There is a good definition for that somewhere. I just cannot come up with it. Dern it, I'm losing my touch...

Ok, I didn't understand half of what you just said...lol... Did recognize the word "ovulation" though - know that one... Add me to the weirdness club... Still having issues. Doc has no answers other than it's "probably" related to my weight loss... sigh... so now, she wants me to go on BC pills for a couple of months to see if she can kick-start me that way... I'm giving it another week and if nothing happens, I'll start them next Sunday. Can ya tell I'm thrilled?

Right after the surgery I was very regular but then all of a sudden I was back to not having one. I decided that since I quit smoking it would be ok for me to go on BC pills. 2 days later I started and boy howdy did I. At least I'm done for the month and am not looking forward to next month. I am known for having hard periods and pretty much knew that it was going to be bad when I got it. Wouldn't you know I started the weekend I moved. But I'm done now and am glad. Jan
