Happy Weekend!
Already posted about my escapades today. Cooking, cleaning, etc.
We had a really nice day.
Think Rich and I really needed it. Someone at Rich's work was on vacation so he had lots of extra traffic reports to do which makes his day hectic since it is extra workload. Then his company downsized some offices and got rid of 3 people from his office. Only 1 traffic reporter but still. That is stressful. And finally, Rich's medical diagnosis.
Anyway, Rich made us eggs scrambled with chopped bacon, cheese and jalapeno relish. Yummers. We did some food shopping for the evening. We chilled a bit. I even took a small nap while Rich played his video game.
Then friends came over and we packed the car and headed out. We drove about 2 hours towards Charlottesville. There is a local community theatre group that performs Shakespeare outside every summer for 4 weekends. The performances are on the grounds of a very nice winery. The backdrop for the show are the ruins of a building designed by Thomas Jefferson for the then governor of Virginia, John Barbour. The house burned many, many years later on Christmas eve. All that remains are a substantial amount of brick work including columns in the front. The shows have been performed here for 17 years. This is my 16th year going. Crowd has yuppified over the years if yuppie is still a word but I adore it. I missed 3 performances, I think, during the 16 years for a few reasons. Anyway, the show this year was "Alls Well That Ends Well". It was great, as always. Even ran into another old friend and her family there.
We had a great time, seeing a great show, seeing good friends and eating good food. I even had a glass of wine! My first alcohol (other than an occassional sip of Rich's beer when he grills) since surgery. It was fine. No buzz. Just tasted nice.
Hope everyone else enjoyed their weekend!
