I did reasonably well last night, me thinks. The scale isn't being kind (163.5 at the gym today... last Friday was 160 and have been as low as 158) but I was very low on fluids yesterday. Doing better on fluids today. 56.9 oz already in. Working on the next 20. I had a protein bar, leftover Chinese for dinner, a SF blue bunny ice cream pop and a protein shake from the time I got home until bed. Oh, and two pieces of cheese. Doh! I think what I should start doing is having some vegies in the evening as some "filler". Perhaps instead of the protein bar or cheese.... have a box of green beans. It would provide the chance of some vitamins and some fiber while being lower calorically too. I may give this a try. Though I like butter on my green beans... (tee hee hee) Kathy

I did well last night. I had room in my calories/food ratio to have a snack bag of popcorn for 90 calories and a SF fudgcicle. Then I hit the bed and didn't look back! Angie

I'm happy to report no snacking at all on Monday or Tuesday. As you all know, I am a deeply religious born-again christian, so at church on Sunday, I made a commitment to God that I would get back on track. I made a whole list of things that I had been slacking on including staying under 1500 calories per day, cutting out the mindless face-stuffing, cutting out white flour and potato products, only having things like cheese, PB, whole wheat crackers every-other day and limiting myself on one measured serving when I do have them, only having s/f cookies and light chips on weekends only and limiting myself to one measured serving when I do have them, and allowing myself one "decadent indulgence" per month (sugar free, of course!). There are a few other things on the list, but it's basically a commitment to get back to basics. I figured that if I brought God into the picture that I'd actually stick to it because I don't want to break a promise I made to Him. It's too easy to break promises I make to myself. I know I'll slip up at some point - after all we're human! But, hopefully this approach will help me keep myself in check.

Good Committment Tracy, I'll be praying for grace for you to follow thru. Say a little one for me too as I also am asking for the gift to abstain from compulsive eating every day. The days I remember to pray and ask & surrender in the a.m. seem to be the most successful. I am quite aware I cannot do this alone. But with grace and lots of support we can do together what we could never do alone. Mary

Hey Kathy, about the butter on the veggies - yeah, I like it too! But, what I've been doing lately is substituting warm salsa and queso dip for butter. The salsa is something like 15 or 20 calories for 2 tablespoons and no fat. The Queso (Tostitos brand) is only 40 calories for 2 tablespoons and a gram or two of fat (they also have a reduced fat variety). It is delish on broccoli, cauliflower, greenbeans and other veggies that would go well with cheese. I like the "hot" queso for an extra kick, but you can also get mild or medium. Salsa is amazing on corn and potatoes, but I know you don't eat those. Give it a try.
