Why do I have to be so unproportioned?
I have always had "big legs" ever since I first began with a weight problem. I have always had a hard time finding jeans to fit me in the waist and legs at the same time. I was so sure once I had surgery that Id be "right" again. Well wrong! Ive always been self concious of my legs and never wore shorts pre op out of fear of everyone staring at them. Now that Ive lost weight I dont wonder if they are worse. They are still big, and the dimples and hanging skin is nasty above my knee. I am in a size 6 waist and to accomodate my legs I need to get a size 9-10. I dont know what Im going to do when it gets cold. Any ideas? I hate wearing jogging pants except at home or those stretchy pants because I feel like a slob. Do I buy the pants too big in the waist or have them glued to my legs(thats nasty too) Argggh!!! Can I just chop them off and trade with somebody?

That would be great if we can chop and trade! My friend had the surgery 4 years ago and she had a similar problem. Her waist and up are so teeny tiny but her but and thighs are huge in comparison. She was over 200 overweight and didn't know she was bottom heavy...just heavy. HOwever, she did say that's how her mom is shaped so thanks to genetics she couldn't escape that one. She had a baby 4 months ago and is even more bottom heavy. She's very frustrated but she is thankful that she's kept most of the 180+ pounds off since her rny. Finds clothes is difficult for her but I will tell her about the chopping thing.

I wish I could blame genetics in my case. Sadly my mother nor my father have big legs. My father is a big man, 6'4 and about 250 pounds but has skinny legs. Hes more stocky than what youd call fat. My mother is 5'7 and 180 pounds and she also has little legs. I never had big legs until I began putting on weight when I was 13. Now no matter what I do I cant get them to go down. Im talking the whole leg, not just my upper leg. I hate em, but Im glad I got some LOL!

LOL, Candy I have to sympathize. I am the same way. I have large legs and wear a size 16. Most of them fit me well but I can also fit into some 14s. I'm wondering after i have my TT done 8/8 what size I will be because I have the waist of a size 12-14 but the legs of a 14/16. I can wear a size 12 dress. I just don't know. I have some XL sweats and the same thing - they fit in the waist but the legs are snug. I have no clue.
