Greetings from "I hate summer" central
I guess we all have a heat wave going on. I'm sick, sick, sick of it. We had 5 days of over 100 this week, a quick respite (if you call 98 degrees a respite). Now it will be over 100 for the next 5 days. My beautiful garden is cooking to a crisp. September 15 (the traditional day when the summer heat abates) can't come too soon.
Anyhoo ...
I'm having LASIK surgery tomorrow -- just on my right eye because I do monovision (1 close vision, 1 distance vision). I'm looking forward to it, won't miss my bifocals or my contacts one bit.
Next stop brachioplasty.
Eileen
Hey Eileen,
Congrats on the LASIK. Very cool! I wear glasses, and they are such a pain to workout in, and I'm blind as a bat without them.
Yes, it's HOT here, as well, but what's worse is the humidity due to it being monsoon season. We have actually gotten some rain out of it, which is nice, but I really like this "dry heat" -- at least it's better than a humid heat!

Lucky you with the Lasik! That's great. Next year I was thinking of doing it but I will have to weigh my options: eyes, boobs or tummytuck? Hmmm. The eyes ARE cheaper. We'll see.
I understand the heat thing. We have also been in severe water restriction here in central Texas. We had tons of rain on the 4th of July but even though we welcomed it we still need much more. For now, we stay in the pool or indoors as much as possible.
Good luck on the brachio stop/

And I was whining and complaining about the heat!!! Whew ! Now you really have something to complain about. We have come near 100 this week and we have the splendid humidity. Is it a dry heat out there?? My vegetable garden was not destroyed by the heat but the DEER. Ate the squash ( 5 kinds) and every leaf, every tomato and cuke and cantaloupe ! They missed 1 watermelon...wonder how long till they eat that too.( guess it didn't take long till I got my whine back)
Best wishes on your Lasik tomorrow. You sound so calm.
Mary
Yup, I'm riding everywhere. That is, until about 3 PM when it's just too hot.
DH is out of town and I have 2 party invites for Mormon MardiGras -- to which I'll ride my bike (breaking my 3PM/95 degree rule). The traffic and parking around here get very bad because of the fireworks at the park.
LASIK went very well. I'm seeing really well today, and I think my eye is pretty well healed. It feels just normal. I'm still doing the required drops and clear eye patch (at bedtime). I'm quite thrilled.
