"Who you is?"...Major wow moments this weekend!
Hey all back from my bi-annual family reunion...just a few of the comments that I heard, and loved!
Great Aunt Mildred-"Who you is?"
Aliya- "I'm Aliya, Arlene's grandaughter"
Great Aunt Mildred- oooohhh lawdie, look at you, you a nice small size.... you used to be a laaaarge size.
All I could say was Thanks!
Another was: "Liya what size you tryin to go to, a 2??? Who would have ever thought Aliya, size and 2 would be mentioned in the same sentence.

Hi Aliya, There's no place like a family re-union to get such great WOW's ! I am sure it was a wonderful experience to be able to be seen with 'new' eyes. You can strut your stuff. I am excited for you to hear that someone asked if you were trying to get to a size 2 !!! How totally flattering. Now I am just a wee bit jealous...I don't think a size 2 will ever be in my future but maybe a 12
Congratulations, You look amazing! Take a bow. Hugs, Mary
PS Did you happen to see Madea's Family Reunion??? We saw it Sat. nt and I laughed and cried. Great fun showing REAL people and real issues. With healing message of hope and reconciliation gently folded up in it all. I think Tyler Perry is on top of the list of people I'd most like to meet !
Great comment Aliya! Thanks for sharing them! Really made me smile!
I had a similar experience at a Folk and Bluegrass Festival the weekend before last. I've volunteered and served as a board member for 17 years. I haven't seen a lot of these folks in 2 years, because last year, as I was recovering from my surgery, I couldn't be involved. I walked up to this woman and asked her if she had my volunteer credentials and she said, "And your name is?" I said "Lori Rosendahl." She almost died.
It happened repeatedly all weekend. I have to admit, I loved it.
Plus, my volunteer job was much easier on me this year. I act as the Access Control Manager, so I have volunteers stationed in the green room and at the various access gates. I end up spending a lot of time walking around the festival to check on people, bring them water, etc. According to my pedometer, I was walking 7 miles a day! And this is very high up in the mountains too...woohoo!
Hugs,
Lori
