Slider foods

What are some of your "slider" foods. Those are foods that you can eat a GREAT deal of and have no problems with. A lot of us have already said ones like popcorn and chips - any others? It's strange, but most chips are considered sliders for me except corn tortillas - they fill me up pretty fast. Another slider for me is (strangly enough) bread and pasta! I can eat easily a cup of pasta or more. I can eat a pretty large slice of French bread and stuff, too. Really hearty breads, though (like the 16-grain flourless or the flax flourless bread that I eat a lot) I can't eat as much of. What about you?? Michelle

Hmmm, I can eat a huge, huge salad. That stuff crunchies down to nothing. I can eat quite a bit of strawberries in one sitting. Again, high water factor. I can eat a good quantity of crackers if I tried. I could eat a decent quantity of Keebler SF chocolate chips cookies (10?) while in Richmond... can you say "major trigger food". I haven't had popcorn but once. Tortilla chips I can eat a fair amount but they do fill things up. I haven't really done pasta. Bread I've usually just picked at the crust of stuff - my fav part. I'll have to think about what else... Kathy

Slider foods, nuts, salad, chili, chips, crackers. I can eat lots of these but protein, such as a steak, chicken, sausage only a small amount. So that is why the protein is what we are supposed to eat first! But chips these days are sooooooooo good!

I really can't eat too much popcorn for some odd reason. I can eats tons of fruit though! The other thing is cookies...not that I've eaten a whole box but I did eat 5 cookies (rather quickly too) before I had to just put them all back! Chips/pretzels are sliders definitely.

Like Becky and Kathy, I can eat a "HUGE" amount of salad - like a dinner plate full of greens, cukes, peppers, and olives (my normal salad fixins). If there's meat on it, I can also eat a few ounces of meat or other dense protein along with the salad. I can also eat a disturbingly large amount of crackery stuff. Potato chips are definitely sliders, but like 'Chelle, tortilla chips are a bit more filling. I could probably eat a lot of fruit, but too much makes me dump.

Fruits are pretty much a slider for me, too. I can easily eat an entire quart or better of blueberries in one sitting - they're awesome. I can eat a lot of watermelon, too but I try not to as it has lots of sugar in it. Strawberries I can eat tons of and I can eat a whole large banana with other things. Salad is pretty much a large quantity, too. I usually make my salad with spinach leaves instead of other lettuces and pile on green peppers, cukes, low fat or ff cheese, black beans, black olives, some sort of nut and sometimes raisins or dried cranberries. I will also either put canned chicken or tuna on it to boost the protein. Michelle

I agree with the other posters about the salad. If I eat a big enough one granted I get full but I notice its not long and Im hungry again. I usually try to only eat one when Im trying not to eat too much of something else like Pizza for instance(something I can eat alot of too). I can eat a whole container of strawberries, but an apple seems to fill me up like Id eaten a meal. I can eat about a cup- cup and a half of grapes and get full. Popcorn and chips Oh My God! When I eat these things I feel like a pre op! Candy

I get Silver Hills bread and I get it at my grocery store. There's all kinds - my favorite is the flax and the 16-grain. They are all flourless and VERY high in fiber! Here's their website: http://www.silverhillsbakery.com/ Hope this helps! Michelle
