Hey There Maysters

I've been off the boards for a while now. We had no internet for over a month (talk about withdrawls!!!) I'm doing OK. Pulled a muscle in my abdomen - doing absolutely nothing!! gggrrr That's painful and it also puts me back on restrictions. When they say it takes 9 months for tt to completely heal, they mean it. I'm struggling with my eatting still. Same old problem, just cant get in enough. We've been crazy with summer here and a lot of eatting on the go. McDonalds has become a multi times per week stop. I eat a double cheese burger without the bun, apple dippers and usually ice tea or water. That brought up my calories - but then I started losing weight again. I'm now at 127 and don't want to be ANY lower!!!!!!! Went and saw the surgeon yesterday - he simply said, "eat more" I need to eat 1500 calories a day!!!! That's just seems so impossible to me. Even with the McD's I was only getting about 1200!! So, I'm a little frustrated with things right now. I've added in some extra carbs (whole wheat breads, crackers, oatmeal) but that hasn't helped either. Don't know exactly how I'm going to get in the required calories without turning it into a dumping thing. But I'm working on it the best I can. Hope you all are having a nice summer. It sure is HOT here in MI right now!!!!! Hugs, Laurie

Hey ya, Laurie! Was thinking about you earlier wondering where you had gone to. Sorry to hear about your owie! Hope that heals quickly. And yes, take it easy, will ya. Rest that abdomen. As for upping calories (something I do NOT have a problem with at all)... what about cheese? Do you tolerate that well. One ounce is usually about 100 calories. Do you tolerate protein shakes? What about making one with milk or Carb Countdown (again, if you tolerate it)? That'll give you another 200-250 cals in one pop. For me, if losing should ever be an issue (not likely)... I know that carbs stall me out and usually cause a gain. It is hot and sticky with some rain here in the DC area. Typical for this time of year. Take care! Hugs back at ya, Kathy

Good idea with the cheese Kathy. I can do about any carbs, but noodles I can only eat one or two bites (they fill me up way too fast). We went to a chineese restaurant and I got Almond chicken. Just ate the chicken and left the rice for dh. YUM!! I sure as loving going to the beach and NOT feeling like a beached whale!!!!!!! I'm really enjoying summer this year!! Yup, hot and sticky here too. WHEW, I think we'll head to the beach tomorrow, it's supposed to be warmer then today!! laurie

Hey Laurie! Sorry about the pulled muscle! Anyway, like Kathy, getting in calories is no problem at all for me. How about adding 2 tablespoons of peanut butter to your day. It's a couple hundred calories, good fats, protein, not to mention delicious! Hugs, Tracy

Welcome back Laurie, I was thinking about you the other day and remembered you had moved and if I remember correctly have about 6 kids! So I was guessing the summer was very busy. We have 5 kids and when they were all home moving was an ordeal!! How are you and the family settling in to your new home and town? Hope your pulled muscle heals quickly. Guess ya have to take it easy ...like busy Moms can do that easily Have fun at the beach ! Best wishes keeping the weight up....(hard to type those words after all our Maysters MO histories) but for you it is a very necessary thing sending you the whoosh fairy to steady the scales from dropping further. Bless ya, Mary

Thanks Mary, my scales have been stable for three days now!!! Yup, I have six kids and we just moved to a new town. The kids are adjusting very well. They already have new "best friends" (haha) I however am still having a hard time. I've just not gone out of my way to meet people yet. I kind of hide at home. I'm not sure why - but I'm just not ready to get out there. It will be nice though, that everyone will know me as I am now. I don't have to even bring up the wls unless I want to. That's cool!!! I'm taking it easy for the most part. Today I'm sewing curtains. I got two done and two left to go. My brother's coming over tomorrow and I thouhgt it'd be good to at least have curtains on the windows. lol I sure appreciate everyone on this board. I tend to feel out of the loop because I have the opposite problem as you all (I'm losing too much) but you guys make me feel welcome no matter what. THANKS Laurie
