I dumped.
My second ever dump happened last night, not long after I ate my evening snack.
Here is what I ate:
1 Quaker Multi-grain Rice Cake (3g sugar)
2-3 Tbsp. Jif Reduced Fat PB (6g sugar)
Here is what happened:
"Stomach" started cramping
Sweating profusely
Dizzy
Thought I was going to pass out on the way to the bathroom
OH THE CRAMPING
Diarrhea and feeling like, (and wishing and hoping) I would vomit
Did I mention cramping?
Heart racing
Could hardly catch my breath-panting like a dog (real attractive)
When it was over, i stumbled into my bedroom, collapsed on the bed, got into the fetal position, and slept until my hubby's alarm went off at 3:45 a.m.
I felt so crummy that I couldn't even hydrate myself after it happened.
And of course, the spouse slept through all of it.
OH MY GOSH - I HAVE NEVER FELT THAT SICK
Not even with the severe case of food poisoning I picked up in Guatemala several years ago!
If I had eaten a Snickers candy bar, I would understand the dumping. But on a rice cake and peanut butter????? The dump wasn't even worth it!
I weighed myself this morning though, and I was down a couple of pounds. Is that what it takes to lose weight anymore?
So that was my evening ...

Wow, Diane...
Definitely sounds like dumping but what you ate just doesn't sound that bad at all. Geez.
How many carbs in the rice cake? Have you eaten the same combo before? What did you eat earlier in the day? Anything different?
Dumping for me is different than many. I get abdominal pain. I describe it as if my whole intestines is a Habitrail and the thing lights up and just plain hurts. So far, no sweating, racing heart, diarrhea, etc. Just pain. Sleeping makes it go away.
We have shrimp and scallops marinated in teriyaki ginger marinade on Sunday night. I never saw the bottle but I guarantee it was loaded with sugar. I dumped. Yucky.
Hope you are feeling better,
Kathy
I've just started dumping in the last month or two myself - not severely, though. I get the sweats, heart racing, and dizzy feeling. Thankfully I don't have the cramping but I do feel the urge to purge, LOL!
The dumping happens for me when I eat something a bit too high in fat (like pb - I've dumped on that) but I don't usually eat sugar. I will sometimes have semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 1-2 tbsp in a sf cheesecake snack thingy I make) and I dumped on that once when I accidentally put too many chips in it (of course I couldn't take them off once they'd gone IN the bowl - NOOOOOOOOO ). Fats as well as sugars can make us dump. That is where I've found my dumping comes from, but again, I don't eat sugars. Maybe that's what makes you dump, too?

Sorry Diane, sounds like a miserable dump. I don't dump often but occasionally do on things I eat regularly. Once it happened on a reg food and when I reviewed the exper. I remembered I had taken a few sips of water w/ dinner. My guess was that on an empty stomach and intestine, drinking a few sips sent the food right down into the intestines too fast and triggered my dump. It can be a mystery and keeping a food journal may be a tool to review to check what may trigger what for your body when.
Glad after that awful night your scale smiled on you ! Mary
