Visit with Becky Sue and Jem Walsh

I got to meet both these lovely ladies last evening. Becky and Jem got together on Sunday and went to Georgetown for dinner. Anyway, Becky will tell you of her trip and her adventures (walking her feet off and lots o' rain, etc). I was supposed to meet Becky on Monday but I felt like death warmed over so I crashed and slept for a good 3-4 hours. Guess I needed it. So, yesterday, I braved the heavy rains and headed into DC via Metrorail. It didn't take as long as I thought which was good but it was a good reminder of why I don't work in DC and why I'm not a big commuter. CROWDED! I got to Becky's hotel just about 5:30 and she came down to meet me. What a lovely woman, she is, but we all already knew that. Becky is as I expected - alot of fun. She had a cute black dress on that showed off her great body. I was much more casual in black jeans and a top and sneaks. We went to the Irish pub/restaurant in the hotel where Becky had spent several meals. It was a nice place with good food. I had caesar salad w/ cajun spiced grilled chicken and she had baked flounder. Stuff was good! We chatted away and then Jem came and surprised us. We weren't sure we were going to get to see her. She is just a doll and too cute for words. And she is a redhead now. She must update her picture. We had a great visit and then Becky and I had to get the bus to go to the convention center to see Gladys Knight. We did get a picture of the 3 of us in the lobby of the hotel. Gladys rocked! For a woman who is probably 65, she is young, vibrant, beautiful and energetic and just plain fun. Her voice was great. It was a great visit even with the guy that kept staring at Becky amongst other women. Yes, he watched her as she walked to the bathroom. Tee hee hee. Kathy

Sounds like such a delightful visit, Kathy! You were brave to go out in those rains ! Shall we say ' soaking rains' ? Glad the concert was great and yes, Gladys is quite a vibrant woman at her age. Maybe we all will be too when we reach that age, now that we have gotten a renewal physically and have come alive again. It was good you rested yourself and were able to make it out w/the girls. Aw sounds like a wondeful visit! I think its great that we are getting out and meeting each other!
