August 8th
That is when my TT is scheduled. I am so excited! My mom is coming up to take care of the kids when I'm in the hospital - which is only going to be for a few hours! I have the surgery at 9 and the nurse said if all goes well I'll be leaving around 1!!!! The doc is a very firm advocate that you heal much better at home that in a hospital where germs can be running rampant and people are bugging you all day. Works for me!
I will be having a full abdominoplasty where they cut from breast bone to pelvic bone and hip to hip. He's estimating about 10-15 pounds of extra skin - I believe it!

Mi chelle... I just wanted to wish you good luck, little pain, and a speedy recovery!!! Congrats... you look amazing and this will be the icing on the cake! Hugs, Stef
Thank you all so much for the encouragement and concern. I'm guessing I'll be completely out of commission for a few days and taking about 7-8 weeks (or maybe a bit longer) for full recovery. From those I've talked to it's WAAAAAAAAY more than the GBS. I believe it. My mom will be here for 2 weeks then hubby will be home for about a week after that. I think after 3 weeks I should be able to be pretty mobile and stuff. I hope so because I have to start teaching 3 classes on Tuesdays beginning September 12th! (Two Ancient Egypt and one Creative Writing.)
Anyway, I'm off for today - taking my kids to a retirement home and then off grocery shopping!! YEAH!

Congratulations Michelle on your Aug. 8th date!!!! I think you might be the first Mayster having her TT. You get to be the guinea pig that squeals to the rest of us how it is, lol. I am still thinking mine will be towards the second half of September. I am trying not to think about it too much, as that's over 2 1/2 months from now. I don't know if I'll have much help at home after the surgery, so I hope it will be okay. I read the insurance company approval letter today, and was surprised to read it is approved as an outpatient surgery. I thought my surgeon told me it would probably be an overnight stay, but he, too, wants me out of the hospital as soon as possible to avoid infection. I look down at my huge panni and try to imagine what it will be like when it is gone. I have never known life without an obese stomach, so I just can't imagine it.
August 8th, yoo hoo!!!
