O.T. Whats new and my first BIG wow moment
I did it. I moved to Oregon with my 2 youngest children. Bummer though that the job I moved here for fell through and I'm currently unemployed. I've applied for a nursing internship at a nearby hospital. The pay would not be very good but the experience would open doors for me that would be beneficial in the long term. It has been 1 month since I've been able to weigh myself on a reliable and accurate scale and I'm going through scale withdrawal. Some days I feel so fat and I'm sure that I'm regaining other days I feel thin and svelte but my body image is so screwwd up that in reality I don't have a clue whether I';ve lost or gained. But yesterday at the auto mechanic's shop a guy was moaning about how sore he was after his first evver pilates workout. I made a comment and he looked me up and down and said, "Yeah, but you look like you';re in pretty good shape." ME, could he be talking to ME??? WOW, somebody who doesn't know that I lost 90 lb.s in the last year thinks I look like I'm in pretty good shape!!! Now THAT was a goood wow moment.
Andrea
Glad to hear your move went well. I hope that things are looking up for you on the job front very soon. Good luck with the internship, Andrea!
Congrats on the wow moment. Funny how we have to realize that we don't wear a big scarlett O (for obese) on your chests anymore and folks that didn't know us before really don't have any idea... they see us so differently from our former selfs. Weird, eh?
Best wishes, Kathy
