Uh, no, make that closer to 110 lbs lost. OMG, too funny. The brother and sister that run the little deli in the next office building said that to me this morning. I haven't been over there in probably a year (before WLS) but we were out of food at home so I went and got an omelette this morning for breakfast (I ate half). I thought their eyes would pop out of theirs heads based on my reply. The sister probably weighs 110 lbs if that much. Kathy

Kathy, That really is funny. I know people do not have *any* concept of how much weight we've lost. When people ask, I tell them 167 pounds. They look at me like I am completely nuts. They just can't fathom either losing that much, or probably more to the point, having needed to lose that much. They would be even more shocked if I told them how much more I would still like to lose!! It is hard even for me to get my head around such a number. Debra M.

It*really* blows people away is when they weigh close to what you've lost, as evidenced by the sister's response. Nevertheless, 30 pounds? Wow, in their world people who have over 100 pounds to lose must be as big as train cars. Eileen

Kathy, My first 75 lbs or so, folks just kept asking me if I changed my hair???? Now, they finally get it that I've lost weight...now that I've lost 145 lbs! Lori

It's amazing how much you have to lose before people "get it", eh? Sometimes I think it is shyness/attempt not to pry... they mention hair rather than say "Oh are you losing weight" but you never ever know!

I think we all get that alot. Also the other way... When I tell people that I have 40lbs more to drop I get the weirdest looks and comments.... Yesterday, as a co-worker of 7 years was leaving with her husband, I heard him say..."who is that?" She told him and he said "no sir!". Still makes me smile... Have a Great Long Weekend everyone!! That "no sir!" was probably said as "no suh!"
