Holiday Weekend Plans
Who has 'em and what are you doing? Speak up, folks!
Rich is DJing Saturday morning from 6 am to 10 am so I'll be either sleeping in or roaming around or playing on the net (shocker, I know).
Our local restaurant, Chutzpah (Jewish deli), is expanding to a second location. We are somewhat regular customers. More regular before WLS, of course, but still - we know the owners and they have invited us to come to the new location on either Saturday and Sunday (between 10 and 2) while they make sure the kitchen is running well. So, I'll probably meet Rich there after his shift for a late breakfast/early lunch.
Then the rest of the day is free!
Sunday, I got tickets from work to go see the Washington Nationals versus the LA Dodgers are RFK. I haven't been to a baseball game in several years (Orioles in Baltimore) so this will be a nice treat. Several of my coworkers will be there too so it'll be fun. Game time is 1:35 pm.
Monday, Rich will be working. I'll be off so I think I'll do some work around the house. Got tons to do.
That's all from here.

Sounds like you will be having a real nice time. I will be very busy. Saturday we will be at the race track. We decided to put a driver in the car, my brother in law passed away last year while racing on June 12th. So this weekend being memorial day they are having three divisions of racing and the division we are racing in the feature race is in his memory. I have been real emotional this week and I think this is why. I feel it is a great honor for his memory, but just don't know how ready I am. On Sunday I have a house warming party and an Indy 500 / Cocola 600 party to go to. I am resting on Monday, but on Tuesday I took the day off and my husband and I are going to lunch where my daughter is getting presented with a scholarship for college in the fall. The next few weeks are full of all kinds of senior things which will be nice. It is so hard to believe that she will be going off to school soon. Two down one more to go.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend.
Take care
Debbie
I'm sticking around town this weekend. We're playing like we're not home, not answering the phone, etc. That being said, I need to help my elderly dad with some stuff ... sigh. I'm going to close my laptop so I won't be tempted to do work-work.
I'd like to have ALL the time to myself, but that won't happen. So, I'll steal a morning at Starbucks for some reading, maybe a swim in an outdoor pool. We may go birding. There's definitely a walk in the canyon in the cards. We are lucky and have a very nice canyon that is right off downtown and is closed to auto traffic.
We plan to 'plank' a salmon (soak a cedar plank, throw on a half salmon, grill until the salmon is cooked). It's wonderful, makes the salmon very smoky. We use 6" cedar fence slats, much cheaper than the planks from WilliamSonoma.
Gotta start getting ready to leave for Ireland: big house clean, so the house sitter doesn't have to live in our dirty house.
Get the garden ready for 2 weeks of neglect ...
Repaint my toenails (what a luxury! being able to reach my toes!!) ...
Do some reading ("For the Love of Ireland -- A Literary Companion for Readers and Travelers") ...
See some movies (current NetFlix DVDs: Good Bye and Good Luck, Pride and Prejudice) ...
Brush the cats ...
Work on the sweater I'm knitting ...
Fix the water garden -- the neighborhood cat trashed last night (ooo!! fishies!!!)
That's about all ...

Saturday I will be helping my dad take my old couch to the dump. I have it sitting out on the front porch (I know redneck) and got a visit from the code enforcement agency yesterday and got a warning so dad and I will take it there along with the neighbors. I might try to talk mom into grilling out Saturday night. Sunday is church in my new outfit mom bought me today. I keep forgetting how much fun it is being able to buy new clothes off the rack at a normal store..read walmart. I got a really cute peasant skirt and a shirt with a knitted vest attached to it on sale for $10 total. Gotta love that sale rack. I will then go out to their house for lunch and a nap. Its much quieter out there. Monday we are going on a road trip. Don't know where yet in fact won't know until we get there. Dad never lets us know where we are going. It's always fun.

Well, let's see . . .
Saturday will start with a workout at the gym and meeting with the nutritionist. Then I think I will go to the office for a couple of hours. My hubbie works weekends, so I won't see him until the afternoon.
Sunday, I think I will get up before it gets too hot, and do some garden maintenance. Definitely not my favorite thing, but everything is overgrown right now. Hubbie and I are going to make big plans for Sunday night, as he has Monday off, and we RARELY get a full day off together. I'm thinking maybe this hot new tapas restaurant and dancing or a concert. We'll see . . .
Then I'm determined to clean out the garage Monday morning with hubbie, and then have some fun!

I have a very busy weekend coming up.
My husband and I are in a wedding on Sunday. The rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are tonight. We are also moving this weekend, so Saturday we will be running back and forth between locations. Sunday is the wedding, that will fill that day. Then we go back to moving on Monday and Tuesday.
I am really hoping that we get so much done on Saturday, that we can take Monday off and enjoy the 85-90 degree weather that we are supposed to get here in RI, and maybe spend a little time at the beach!
Have a great weekend everyone!
